Sjalina Surf Charters has been operating in the North Sumatra area since 2002 with Captain Suzuki at the helm - he knows all the secret, uncrowded surf spots and best breaks like the back of his hand. An avid surfer himself with 15 years of surfing experience in Indonesia, as well as a seasoned seafarer who grew up in a fishing village, Captain Suzuki can be counted on to know where the best surf is in the prevailing weather and wave conditions. With his knowledge of the less frequented spots and the fact that Sjalina only takes up to six guests, you can be sure to have the waves pretty much to yourself.

The trips are designed to give you an active adventure you'll never forget, but with a lot of relaxation built in. In between riding the waves you can go for a snorkel or try your hand at fishing, or even have a go at spearfishing. Just make sure you only aim for the fish! We can also organise sightseeing and jungle trekking tours on the islands if you'd like to get some solid ground under your feet. The evenings are chill-out time to enjoy movies, a few cold beers and delicious food cooked by our on-board chef, Mick. He is an Australian-born five-star chef who used to run his own restaurant on the busy Gold Coast. With 14 years on the job, three of it on the boat, he can serve up international dishes to tempt anyone's tastebuds. Not only that, but he is also a top-notch surfer himself.
